Celery
Celery is a herb comparable to parsley, but with a much stronger flavor.
Flavor
The flavor of celery is a little spicy. It is used in both cold and warm dishes and can be cooked. Bruising the leaves a little before cooking them allows for a better release of their aroma.
In the Chinese kitchen, celery leaves are used in stir-fry dishes. In the Greek kitchen, celery is used in soups and sauces. The leaves have a highly dominant flavor. They are also used in salads, cream cheese, stamppot (a traditional Dutch dish, which translates as “mash pot”) and as fillings.
Storage
Celery can be stored in the vegetable drawer of your fridge for a few days.
